Teresa Wilson

With a career spanning more than four decades, Teresa started out moonlighting at Bill Miller Bar-B-Q as a single mom. After graduating with a BS from The University of Texas at Austin, School of Liberal Arts she began working at the upscale Italian restaurant Basil’s where she devoted 17 years learning to hone her craft. In 2000, she opened the fine-dining French restaurant Aquarelle on West Sixth Street with business partner Robert Brady regarded as one of Austin's best French restaurants in history.

When Aquarelle closed in 2011, Wilson took a few years off to devote to her family, but returned to the service industry with Sala & Betty in 2015. Located in the heart of Austin's beloved Ridgetop neighborhood, Sala & Betty brought a high-end ethos to a casual-dining vibe. In the summer of 2022 Teresa decided to close the doors and focus on her family and the next chapter in her cooking career.

Teresa has dedicated countless years to her community, donating her time and efforts to countless charities, organizations and fundraisers.

She is married to her husband Terry Wilson and has four children: Diana, Rachel, Lena and Matthew.
